Beechwood - Restaurant Review
Situated discreetly where funky and hip Abbot Kinney boulevard dead ends, Beechwood is the perfect haven to morph into the trendy hipster scene of Venice. The modern warm wood décor creates a relaxed atmosphere, whether you are enjoying the signature Pan Fried Chicken Paillard in the secluded rear dining room, or a Kiwi Vodka Caipirinha in the comfortable, noisy space of the enticing bar area with its fire pit, low chaise lounges, and communal tables. There is no doubt that the stylish crowd is drawn in by the innovative twists on international comfort food, diverse wines and specialty cocktail list as much as the lively atmosphere, making it a splendid destination to chitchat and chow down.

Maison Akira
Address: 713 E. Green Street, Pasadena, CA 91101 (Map)
Near the Playhouse, in one of the quaintest districts in Pasadena, a rare jewel sparkles in the Crown City—Maison Akira. Step off the bustling Green Street into the foyer door and find yourself halfway around the world in an elegant restaurant just off Cours Mirabeau in Aix-en-Provence, France. Though distinctly French, a peaceful Zen-like esthetic pervades the atmosphere. That is because Maison Akira is home of the world-renowned chef Hirose Akira. His menu is like a symphony of truly beautiful French classics, made modern and dazzling with subtle Japanese influences, like his signature Miso-infused Chilean Sea Bass, which has made him famous throughout the world.
